Magny’s Support for an Interim Title Fight
Neil Magny supports the interim welterweight title fight at UFC 310. He believes it will help keep the division moving while Belal Muhammad recovers from his injury. As a UFC veteran, Magny knows how important it is to avoid stagnation in such a competitive division.
Magny feels the interim title is necessary for the welterweight division to stay active. “Without it, the division becomes a logjam,” he said. He thinks the UFC needs to offer opportunities for other fighters to step up while Muhammad heals. “It’s important to keep everything moving,” he added.
Magny pointed to the many contenders vying for a title shot, such as Kamaru Usman, Leon Edwards, and Sean Brady. He believes an interim title will prevent delays and keep the division dynamic.
Although Magny isn’t focused on a title shot for himself, he values his role in the UFC. He is proud to headline UFC Vegas 100, especially during Veteran’s Day weekend. As one of the few U.S. war veterans on the UFC roster, he feels honored to represent his country. “This is a great opportunity,” he said.
Magny’s UFC career has spanned multiple eras, and he is grateful for every moment. He looks forward to continuing his journey and facing rising talents like Carlos Prates.
