Four days after securing their third FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship title, Italian volleyball giants Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano will return to the Lega Femminile, facing Cda Volley Talmassons Fvg. This marks the first match for Conegliano in the 2024-2025 Lega Volley Femminile Serie A1 Tigotà after their international victory in China.
Conegliano’s Perfect Record in 2024-2025
Conegliano’s incredible season continues as they seek to maintain their perfect record in Italy’s top league. Since September, the team has won three major trophies, including the Italian Supercup and Courmayeur Cup. So far, they have won every single match in all competitions, demonstrating their dominance in both domestic and international volleyball.
Their Club World Championship victory will be celebrated with a special moment before the match against Talmassons, where the sold-out crowd will enjoy the celebration. Head coach Daniele Santarelli, despite the fatigue from their triumph in China, is looking forward to playing in front of their passionate fans once again.
“We are happy, but also tired after our victory in China,” Santarelli shared. “The schedule is calling us back to the court already, but we’re excited about the possibility of bringing the Club World Championship trophy to the Palaverde.”
Talmassons Looking to Avoid Relegation
Talmassons will have a tough challenge ahead, sitting at 13th in the standings with only 9 points. Having lost their last three matches, they urgently need points to escape the relegation zone. In their previous encounter earlier this season, Conegliano dominated with a 3-0 victory, and they’ll be looking to repeat that result.
While Conegliano leads the standings with 39 points, other teams like Savino Del Bene Scandicci and Igor Gorgonzola Novara will be challenging them. Both teams will play their matches on Thursday, with Milano also looking to climb up the standings after returning from the Club World Championship in fourth place.
The Road Ahead for Conegliano and Milano
For Conegliano, their return to domestic competition is more than just another match; it’s a chance to reaffirm their superiority in Italy and continue their historical dominance. With fans excited to cheer them on, Conegliano is poised for yet another victory in the Lega Femminile.
As for Milano, they will also be looking to recover lost ground after a few challenging weeks. Coach Stefano Lavarini is confident that the experience from the Club World Championship will help propel his team forward in the league.
On Thursday, the entire league will be buzzing, with matches across the board. The Italian volleyball scene is heating up as these top teams face off in what promises to be another exciting day of action.
